Experiences and Background
Working With Celebrities
We are used to being with celebrities and working around their very unique requirements and schedules. It was during this time that the understanding of being more of 'Guardian' than a obvious Bodyguard developed.
We have had friends and acquaintances ask us to "meet them somewhere" or "just be around" and years ago I used to do the same for celebrities that I was working with such as Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters while he was in Wilmington making "Weeds" with Nick Nolte in 1980's.
While Linda Hamilton was in Wilmington making "King Kong Lives", I acted as a trainer and guardian as she took care of her personal and professional tasks. She was absolutely wonderful to meet and work with.
During this same time period I got to spend time around Kid Dynomite - JJ Walker , Molly Ringwald and the wives and families of several other celebrities, movie makers, and directors. Each one was very different, each one was a considerate professional.
These experiences came about as De Laurentiis studios were creating movies in Wilmington NC. So my work was associated with cast and members of such movies as "Firestarter", "Silver Bullet", "Blue Velvet" and 'The Bedroom Window".
They also had one common trait, they already had enough eyes watching them, the last thing they wanted was someone who would contribute more attention and sometimes unwanted attention around them.
